أهلًا وسهلًا بالجميع!
في هذا الجُهد المُقِلّ سأكتب بعض الكلمات الإنكليزية وتعريفها، وعِدة معاني لها، ونوعها، ومعانيها بالعربي، وبعض الأمثلة عليها. والطريقة، أني سأكتب الكلمة برقمها، ثم نوعها، ثم تعريفها بالإنكليزي، ثم معناها بالعربي، ثم بعض الأمثلة برقم الكلمة (بمعنى أن الكلمة رقم 1 سأكتب لها مثال برقم 1 وهكذا) ثم ما تحمله من معاني. وأرجوا من الله التوفيق والسداد.
1-Significant: (adj) important, having an important effect or influence, especially on what will happen in the future. شيء هامّ
1-E.g., “The police said that the time of the murder was extremely significant.”
2-So large that you notice it. شيء ملحوظ
2- E.g., “There is a significant difference between the number of home births now and ten years ago.”
3-A significant look, smile etc; has a special meaning that is not known to everyone. شيء له مغزى أو معنى معين
3- E.g., “She gave me a significant smile/look.”
2-Scarce: (adj) not existing in large quantities; hard to find. شيء نادر أو قليل
2-E.g., “Food for birds and animals is scarce in the winter.”
3- Absence: (noun) a time when somebody is away from somewhere; the fact of being away from somewhere. غياب
3- E.g., “Frequent absences due to illness meant he was behind with his work.”
4- The fact of something not being there; lack. انعدام شيء ما، أي عدم وجوده
4- E.g., “The first thing I noticed about the place was the absence of noise.”
4- Frequent: (adj) happening often. متكرّر، شيء يحدث بكثرة
4- E.g., “There is a frequent bus service from the city center to the airport.”
5- (verb) to go to a place often. يتردد على مكان ما
5- E.g., “He spent most of his evenings in Tokyo frequenting expensive restaurants.”
5- Valuable: (adj) worth a lot of money. شيء ثمين أو نفيس
5- E.g., “Is this ring valuable?”
6- Valuable help, advice, information etc; very useful because it helps you to do something. شيء نافع أو مفيد جدًا
6- E.g., “A job that gave him valuable experience.”
7- Important because there is only a limited amount available. شيء عزيز؛ لندرته
7- E.g., “I won’t waste any more of your valuable time.”
