Hello magnificent folks l just wonder about the topic Gerund. Mr Ibrahim explained the lesson in perfectly way. I speak about the grammar in the second level we also know the difference between gerund and infinitives but I read plenty of articles in English and l watch videos for native speakers they say the word without adding anything. If we dreive the noun form the verb we add ing. In the second level of reading course specifically in the first episode there's a sentence In the quiz {His eyes are bloodshot from the lack of sleep}We absolutely know the world sleep is verb because if we imagine this verb. It will be meaningless sentence . Could you tell me what should I do?? Or maybe my question will be in the future and I rush things. I'm grateful for your responses.

The word sleep in this sentence is a noun not a verb. many English words in their infinitive form can be, either nouns, adjectives or verbs, it depends on the context of usage,

For example

I don’t sleep early. Verb

You really need some sleep. Noun

I don’t have a regular sleep schedule. Adjective

Thanks a lot for your answer .  You know that there's a difference between gerund and noun like{Education and Educating} I mean we make Gerund from 99% from verbs.  If we can use the word without adding anything so what's the benefit from using the Gerund rule?? we can say Walk is good ___ and also walking is good . I hope you know what l mean.

You are very welcome!
I see what you mean, and as you mentioned before the noun and gerund are different, you can surch online for  the difference because it’s a little complicated even for the native English speakers! And I don’t want to give wrong information!
